Last year I switched my entire business from in-person service delivery to an online model. I packed up my office, changed my brand, cut most of my operating expenses and went back to working in my kitchen.
Let me just say this: BEST MOVE EVER.
It was super scary because I’ve believed for a long time that I’m “bad at” online marketing. Talk about a self-limiting belief!
I didn’t want to use all the annoying pushy tactics that a lot of online marketers use…even though they work…sending 11 emails a week to my list promoting myself just didn’t feel right. I’m into authentic marketing. Being honest. Giving away a lot of really valuable information for free. And in my mind, I had equated authenticity with super slow growth. And it was stifling my business.
Lessons from Marketing Sleazebags
It’s really easy to find examples of douchey online marketing. We all know what we don’t like, and yet when it comes to marketing our own stuff, we often resort to cheesy tactics because we see them everywhere and we don’t know what else to do. I’ve done it. You’ve probably done it, or thought about doing it. So the marketers you don’t like are really good at showing you what you don’t want to do…and then they keep using those same tactics that you don’t like. And the annoying part is that those cheesy tactics WORK.
They work! It sucks!
But I think all of that is changing.
Since I went to Montreal last September to learn a whole new way of approaching online marketing from Danny Iny and the Firepole Marketing team, my whole perspective on online marketing has changed. I realized that it was my own assumptions that were preventing me from being really successful in marketing my services online. And I’m really proud to say that when I let go (completely) of my in-person model to focus my time on creating an authentic experience for my customers online, nothing happened.
My revenue stayed the same.
My customers were just as happy (maybe happier).
The number of leads I got each week stayed the same.
This was amazing! Now, with a quarter of the expenses I once had, I could earn the same amount of money and have the flexibility to either pay myself more, or put that money back into even better experiences for my clients.
So what did Danny teach me (and the 11 other people in Montreal that weekend) that I couldn’t figure out on my own?
It had to do with how to engage people online. How to ask them what they want from you…and actually get them to respond. How to analyze those responses to determine what they really meant…and how to get my own self-limiting beliefs out of my way.
And now the same training I flew across the continent to receive is available to you – for FREE. Right here.
Trust me, it was worth the price of admission tenfold. This training on the ‘new paradigm’ of online marketing is set to help me double my revenue this year. I have a plan in motion, and it’s not too late for you to do the same. And lucky for you, it costs you nothing.

- Cast away that obnoxious voice in your head that’s telling you that you can’t do this;
